All Wintec saddles are designed with an adjustable gullet system. This provides a quick and easy way of adjusting the width of the saddle to fit correctly over the horses withers.
What saddles use the easy change gullet system?
The EASY-CHANGE Gullet System is exclusive to Bates Saddles and Wintec Saddles and offers a means of altering the width of the Elastiflex tree in your saddle. The Elastiflex tree is supported by the rigid gullet at the head, and possesses true lateral flexion to work with your horse’s muscles.

How do you tell what Wintec saddle I have?
Simply contact us with your serial number and we’ll do our best to tell you all about your saddle. Depending on the age of your saddle, your serial number will either be on a sewn in tag, or stamped on the under-flap of your saddle.
What size gullet do I need for a Quarter horse?
7″
Full-Quarter horse bars usually have a 7″ gullet. They are designed for mutton-withered horses with broader backs. Arab saddles, usually with 6 1/2″ to 6 3/4″ gullets, are for Arabians. They have a shorter gullet.
Are Wintec and Bates gullets the same?
Please select colour and size. The easy change gullets are suitable for all easy change saddles made by Wintec or Bates. The interchangeable gullets can be bought individually to enable you to alter the fit of your saddle quickly and easily when the horse changes shape.
Do Wintec saddles come with gullets?
Contains an EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge, five gullet plates, along with all the fixings for fitting them in your saddle. Medium/Black gullet not included as fitted as standard in all standard saddles except for the High Wither (fitted with a Medium Narrow/Green gullet).
