Do you need a pass to enter Thredbo?

As we’re located in a national park, all vehicles are required to purchase a vehicle pass to enter Kosciuszko National Park. Day and multiday park entry passes can be purchased at the NPWS vehicle entry stations and the Thredbo Visitor Centre.

What is the best time to visit Kosciuszko National Park?

Spring (September to November). Arguably the most beautiful time to visit, visitors will be rewarded with wildflowers on the hills, some snow on the summit and lush greenery. Summer (December to February) Warm and sunny days make this the most popular time of the year for hiking Mount Kosciuszko.

Can you walk Mt Kosciuszko in winter?

Get ready for a day of high altitude adventure. Hike or ride from Charlotte Pass to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko, through the high peaks of Kosciuszko National Park. This walk is snowbound in winter, between June and October. You can cross-country ski or snowshoe, but there are no snow poles marking the route.

Where can I see snow without skiing?

If you just want to see snow I suggest that your best choice would be Mt Selwyn. It is a lot cheaper than the other ski reorts, Thredbo, Perisher/Smiggins and Blue Cow. Selwyn is a great choice. It’s a good family resort and as BigW already said, it’s cheaper than the other resorts.
