Can veterans use Jbsa Canyon Lake?
To be able to access the Canyon Lake park with the Veterans health identification card (VHIC), it has to state under the picture: Service connected, Medal of honor, Purple Heart or Former POW. Then you will have to go to one of the JBSA Base visitor centers to be vetted.

Can veterans visit Lackland Air Force Base?
As long as you have your military id it isn’t a problem to get on base. If you don’t have one, then someone on base will have to sponsor you to get you through the gate. Go to jbsa.mil and it will give you all the details you need.
