The Chukar is a non native flight bird introduced to North America in the late 1800’s. They are released and/or raised in captivity and do not migrate being a permanent resident.

Raising Hungarian Partridges is more challenging than raising pheasants because they are a much smaller bird. A baby chick is about the size of a quarter! Full-grown Huns weigh about one pound and are about 12 inches long. Once our Hun eggs hatch, we raise them on a table for the first week because they are so tiny.

Chukar are available year round, and they can be picked up here on the farm or shipped to you. Due to the live nature of most of our products we only ship Monday Tuesday & Wednesday. Typical orders will take one day to process for rush orders please call our direct line.
How do you raise chukar partridge?
Chukar chicks require a higher protein ration than chicken chicks do. Feed 28-30% game bird starter until they are 9 weeks old, then you may switch them to the game bird grower with 26% protein. If you cannot find game bird starter, you may use turkey starter and grower but do verify that the protein is high enough.
