Are dogs allowed at Pulborough Brooks?
Dogs on leads are welcome on the heathland trail, and on public footpaths and bridleways. Water for dogs is available at the Visitor Centre and they are welcome on the tea terrace (on leads).
Is Pulborough Brooks free?
For RSPB members it is free. This walk begins at the Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve car park and takes you on a circular loop to Pulborough village and back round along the River Arun.
Are the hides open at Pulborough Brooks?
Open 10am-4pm daily. Please see our activities and events section for details. Our wildlife watching hides and viewpoints are a great place to spot the special wildlife here and offer outstanding views over Pulborough Brooks. We have four hides and six viewpoints in total, open daily, dawn-dusk.
Can you take dogs to RSPB nature reserves?
Sorry, dogs are not permitted on the reserve, except assistance dogs, due to the sensitive wildlife and habitats here. We know that the countryside is a dog walking paradise. It’s important to remember the special surroundings here are wonderful havens for rare wildlife.

These are the main reasons why dogs aren’t allowed in national parks: Even the most docile dogs are predatory animals and are therefore a threat to protected wildlife. Native animals are vulnerable to diseases that dogs may carry. Barking and scents left by dogs can scare wildlife and attract other predatory animals.

However, many have expansive outdoor spaces where you and your pet can share a walk, both on- and off-lead.
How much is it to visit Brockholes?
There is no entry fee at Brockholes but we do operate car parking charges. The income generated by car parking charges is really important to Brockholes Nature Reserve.
