Kairi is the tritagonist of the Kingdom Hearts video game series. Kairi is also a Princess of Heart, one of seven maidens whose hearts hold no darkness but only pure light, and is needed to open the Final Keyhole to Kingdom Hearts. She is Sora and Riku’s best friend and Sora’s love interest.
Why is Kairi so special?
Because Kairi is a Princess of Heart, her heart possesses no darkness within it, leading to the unique birth of Naminé when she accidentally gives it to Sora, who later sacrificed himself to restore her heart.

in the manga, Kairi kisses Sora somewhat off-screen after he seals the keyhole in Hollow Bastion (as evidenced by the position of their shadows and Sora’s feet being slightly raised in a cartoonish fashion usually found when a cartoon is kissed, and one of Kairi’s leg being raised in a way when a girl kisses a boy).
