What causes Sisterlock bunching?
Sisterlocks don’t always ‘bud’ to the same extent as traditional locks. Bunching can be caused by loose strands unraveling from their pattern. Sometimes it’s from a loose hair pattern, requiring an adjustment of the pattern sequence or even coloring the hair after establishment (can loosen hair texture).
Do sisterlocks have different sizes?
Sisterlocks are installed in three sizes: small, medium and large, but I did not desire such a dramatic size difference.
Will my sisterlocks get thicker?
Depending on your hair type, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to up until a year for your Sisterlocks™ to settle in. Your Sisterlocks™ will increase in thickness after a few washing by about 100%. Do locs bud at same time?
The budding can appear anywhere along the shaft of the locs, but normally budding appears in the middle of the locs or closer to the roots first. Once your locs have completely budded, from the roots to the ends, they will have matured into the teenage loc stage.
Why are my locs lumpy?
Lumps and Bumps are formed when a knot is made to join a thinning area along the dread or a few locks attached themselves along the way. If the bump to join a thinning area is too big it will be higher than the rest of the hair; if done properly, it is almost undetectable.
Which is smaller sisterlocks or Microlocs?
What is this? Microlocs are also much larger than sisterlocks but smaller than traditional locks. Another significant distinction is the cost of installation. Sisterlocks are much costlier to install and require a special tool to install.
How long does it take for locs to bud?

2. Budding Stage/ Sprouting Stage. The Budding Stage (also known as the Sprouting Stage), occurs roughly six to twelve months into your locs journey. This is when you’ll start to notice that your hair isn’t unravelling when you wash it and notice your new growth, which will look a bit fuzzy and fluffy.
Why are my locs puffy?
During the budding phase, you might notice that your new growth is puffy and on the fuzzy side. “During this stage, your hair will start to stick or matte together at the tops of your coils after shampooing,” Faulk notes.
