The 1/4” Ruler Foot was specifically designed to use for ruler work using Janome quilting rulers. The 1/4” cup height moves smoothly alongside the quilting ruler without allowing the ruler to slide over or under. With this foot, the needle drops a 1/4 inch away from the ruler to create the quilting line.

- Lower the presser foot completely flat.
- Using a ruler, measure from the base of the foot to the center of the presser foot thumb screw.
- If the shank is 075″ or 0.5″ or below, you have a low shank sewing machine.
- For shanks measuring 1″ and more, it’s a high shank machine.
Can you use long arm rulers on a domestic machine?
If they are made for domestics, they have things sticking up from them to grasp them but get in the way of the quilt and/or hit the machine causing skips. Your rulers are compact and fit well in the hand and work extremely well on domestic machines.
