Common species of aquatic turtles that shed are Red-Eared Sliders, Yellow Belly Sliders, Painted turtles of all subspecies (Southern, Eastern, Midland, etc.), Map turtles, and Diamondback Terrapins will all shed their shells. Some of these species shed more easily and readily than others.
