Why is my Flymo lawnmower smoking?

The engine is burning off the excess oil, which is causing the smoke. This can be fixed easily by making sure the oil is at the correct level. White fuel can also occur if any fuel gets into the engine itself so this can happen if you are mowing on a gradient. It is often completely harmless and is easily fixed.

Why is my Flymo lawnmower noisy?

This is usually a sign that the mower blade is damaged or out of balance. The vibration is a result of uneven weight distribution at either end of the blade while it spins (the same way a washing machine with a load that is distributed unevenly will knock around and make more noise than usual).

Why is my Flymo not hovering?

A Flymo lawn rake is the quick and easy way to remove moss and thatch from your lawn. Also, if there is a build-up of grass cuttings underneath the hood, or in-between the fins on the impeller, then this will prevent the hover mower from hovering. This can be resolved by general care and maintenance.

Why does my hover mower not hover?

If the lawn mower cannot get air underneath the machine it will feel very heavy, as the cushion of air isn’t powerful enough to get the most out of it. In addition to this if there is a build up of grass cuttings between the fins on the impeller or underneath the hood this can also prevent the machine from hovering.

Why is my lawn mower smoking and smells like burning?

If it’s clogged, the combustion chamber may not be getting enough oxygen, resulting in a too-rich fuel mixture that will cause the engine to run poorly and even spew smoke. The solution is to replace the air filter, a relatively easy task.

What does it mean when white smoke comes out of your lawn mower?

oil spill
White or blue smoke may indicate an oil spill on the engine. Similarly, you could’ve spilled oil on the engine by mowing on a slope greater than 15 degrees or tipping the mower on its side. The smoke may look disconcerting, but it’s completely harmless.

How do I know if my lawn mower crank is bent?

Look at the Center Bolt On a mower that doesn’t have a bent crankshaft, you will hardly notice that center bolt move at all. However, if you spin the blade and that center bolt is wobbling all over the place, it’s a sure sign that your lawn mower crankshaft is bent.

Why is my lawnmower knocking noise?

Checking the blade / checking under the deck Take a look at the blade under the mower deck. Sometimes the knocking sound you hear could be the result of a loose, bent or wobbling blade. If you’ve recently removed or replaced the blade and it suddenly started knocking, this is quite possibly the cause of your issue.

Why is my lawnmower blade not turning?

If your mower blades will not turn after the blade controls have been engaged, your deck belt may be broken. The deck is located directly under the operators seat. This belt spins the mowers blades and runs through a pulley system of idlers. The exact configuration of the deck belt will depend on your model of mower.
