Known as the “Savior of Little Round Top”, the portrait statue of General Gouverneur K. Warren was dedicated on August 8, 1888 & was the first statue to a New York commander at Gettysburg. The General is standing atop the boulder from which he noticed the Confederate advance on July 2nd.

Park Closures Devil’s Den closed for rehabilitation work on Monday, March 21. This project will address significant erosion and safety issues in this highly visited area of the battlefield. Devil’s Den will be CLOSED for approximately five to six months.
How long will Little Round Top be closed?
12 to 18 months
Once rehabilitation efforts begin, later in Spring 2022, all of Little Round Top will be closed for 12 to 18 months. Can you dig at Gettysburg?
A Park Watch Patrol of some 100 volunteers also help the rangers keep an eye on the grounds. But they can’t be everywhere. Anyone found guilty of digging or stealing could be prosecuted under the Archaeological Resources Protection Act of 1979. Some looters end up in jail.
