- Run a string FROM TO BACK OF THE 1ST AND 3RD BASE BAG THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF SECOND BASE.
- Measure 36 inches from string toward the infield grass. Place pegs at each end of infield grass and move string over to these pegs.
- Cut along edge.
- Repeat same steps on the remaining base lines.

Why do they drag the infield?
The purpose of these types of drags is to loosen the top ¼” to ½” layer of material at the surface of the infield. Remember, a metal baseball cleat is only 3/8” long so you really don’t want to penetrate much deeper.
