What is a IP converter?

An I/P converter is a current-to-pressure transducer utilized in industrial control systems. It is a small module device used in applications to translate a current analog signal (I) into a pneumatic output (P).

What is an IP valve?

An I/P Converter is also known as a “current to pressure transducer” as it provides flow/speed controls and directional control functions in a single valve. Otherwise known as an I/P Transducer, an I/P Converter eliminates the need for any external power supply by translating electric currents into pneumatic output.

What is the need of IP converter in control system?

Purpose of I/P Converter Its purpose is to convert the analog output of a control system into an accurate repeatable value of pressure to control pneumatic actuators/operators, pneumatic valves, dampers, vanes, etc.

How does AI P converter work?

The I/P converter uses an electromagnetic force balance principle to change electrical signals into pneumatic signals. Typically, a 4 – 20mA input is converted into a 3 – 15pisg output.

How do I calibrate my IP converter?

Calibration Procedure :

  1. Inlet air supply to be set at 20 psi in AFR.
  2. Feed 4mA from source to I/P converter.
  3. Observe master pressure gauge , it should show 3psi.
  4. If it is not showing (3psi) adjust I/P ZERO up to obtain the 3psi.
  5. Feed 20mA from source to I/P converter.
  6. Observe master pressure gauge , it should show 15 psi.

How do you convert pressure to current?

When pressure is applied to bellows, they will expand thus core displaces and the voltage is induced on the secondary coils of LVDT. As voltage is induced, current will flow through the coil. That current is proportional to the input pressure applied. Thus Pressure is converted into equivalent current.

What is the most common use for an IP transducer?

I/P transducers are versatile instruments that use an electrical control signal to proportionally regulate gas pressure. The most common application is in valve actuation, but they can also be used in many other situations.

What is a pressure converter valve?

The pressure converter controls the EGR valve by mixing the atmospheric pressure and pressure generated by the vacuum valve in the EGR valve. Pressure converters are common on engines with a turbo to ensure the correct bar of pressure is passed through it.

How do you calibrate a 4 20mA transmitter?

How to Calibrate a 4-20mA Current Loop Transmitter

  1. Step 1: Connect the Positive and Negative Loops. Use a precision ammeter for proper calibration.
  2. Step 2: Adjust the Zero-Point (Z) The “Z” point stands for “Zero-Point” or in other words the lowest possible reading.
  3. Step 3: Adjusting the Span (S)

What is pressure to current converter?

P/I converter or Pneumatic pressure-to-Current is a transducer. It converts pressure input to a current in mili ampere range. P/I converter is a common instrument in automation system.

What is a boost pressure converter?

premium turbo pressure convertor The pressure converter controls the EGR valve by mixing the atmospheric pressure and pressure generated by the vacuum valve in the EGR valve. Pressure converters are common on engines with a turbo to ensure the correct bar of pressure is passed through it.
