What happened landmark game?
On January 5, 2017, only seven months after its release, Daybreak announced they would be shutting down the game’s servers, as well as the accompanying forums and social media channels, on February 21, 2017.
Why was Eqnext Cancelled?

EQOA was shut down as of March 29, 2012 to the dismay of many players and fans.

Yes, that’s right. EverQuest, the MMO that launched in 1999 and was for several years the biggest MMO in the world, is still kicking. It’s changed hands from Sony to Daybreak Games, which then restructured and put Darkpaw Games in charge of the MMO.

Just know that it’s coming, and we’re aiming for an early 2022 launch after the release of Terror of Luclin. (It will be coming to the beta server sooner than that, though.) As many of you saw, we recently opened pre-orders for our 28th expansion, Terror of Luclin.
