How did Walt beat Gus?
Gus Fring gets blown up by Hector Salamanca in ‘Face Off’ But Gus has never seen clearly when it came to Hector. Because of this, Walt turns Hector into a suicide bomber, rigging an explosive to his wheelchair that detonates at the push of his bell.
Does Walt shoot Gus?
Gus cared more about Walt’s skill and quickly arranged to replace him, something that Walt caught wind of. Walt had no choice but to kill Gus, so he cooked up a plan using his rival’s enemy, Hector Salamanca.
Why did Walt go against Gus?
He was protecting his boss and co-workers. It’s possible Gus had those two drug dealers who caused combo’s death killed for using a child. Gus later threatens to kill Walt’s children, but I don’t think he would have. He just turned on Walt with so much hatred and the hatred was mutual.

They could easily get rid of Victor by silently killing him. But instead Gus chose to do it himself by horrifically slitting his throat with a box cutter. That was because he wanted to show Walt and Jesse what he can do and how dangerous he can be.

Salamanca blinds Gus with rage. Although he does have his guy check out the place first (he can never be too careful), but perhaps he underestimated Walt.
Why does Gus replace Walter?
Gus considered Jesse to be too much of a high-risk for his secretive drug empire. Walt eventually convinced Gus to hire him, though Gus insisted that Walt work with trusted chemist Gale Boetticher rather than Jesse, to which Walt agreed.
