There is no fixed cost for the challenge, and you’re very welcome to arrange your own – there are no set fees. We run organised challenge throughout the year, providing professional staff to help groups complete the challenge. What training should I do for 3 peaks?
Around 3-4 months before the hike: Over the course of a week, focus one day on resistance training, one on cardio (30 – 90 minutes continuous activity), one on general fitness (to mix up the cardio) and aim for one longer outdoor hike a week, with plenty of rest days in between.

3 Peaks Challenge Training Plan Try to start your 3 peaks challenge training regime between 3-6 months before the challenge. A combination of gym work, regular hikes both on hills and mountains as well as nighttime walking is ideal as is running for endurance and strength.
Can anyone do the 3 peaks?
It is very much down to the individual though. You should be able to walk at a steady pace, uphill with a light rucksack on for 3 hours, then downhill for 2 hours. Anyone with an average to good level of fitness and no major medical problems / existing injuries should be able to complete the challenge.
Can you do the three peaks in 24 hours?
Total challenge time generally includes ascending and descending all three mountains. The 24-hour time includes both walking time and travel between the mountains — approximately thirteen hours hillwalking and eleven hours driving. Several timings options are available, depending on your arrival time into Fort William.
How fit do you need to be for Yorkshire 3 Peaks?
You need to have a good base level of fitness for the Yorkshire Three Peaks. You need to be ‘comfortable’ walking for 12 hours and be able to walk on rough, steep uneven terrain. If you don’t have a good base level of fitness (and even if you do) we highly recommend you put in a good few months’ training.
What is the best time to start the three peaks challenge?
In order to avoid traffic, the common pitfall of the Three Peaks Challenge, it is sensible to begin at midday, finishing Ben Nevis by around 5pm, allowing for a late evening drive to Wasdale Head to climb Scafell Pike. Scafell Pike is then climbed in the dark, followed by Snowdon in the morning. Start Ben Nevis.
Is Scafell Pike harder than Ben Nevis?
