How do you text a donation?

Text-to-Donate is our easy, mobile-first method for capturing contributions when donors are on the go. Donors text/SMS a special “text code” to 44321 (valid with U.S. phone numbers on U.S. carrier networks) and receive a text reply with a link to a secure, mobile-ready fundraising page where they can then donate.

Does text donation work?

In the past, text-to-give providers would cap donations at $5 or $10. But these days, most providers don’t have a limit on the amount a donor can give via text message! Can donors set up recurring donations via text-to-give? Yes, although the process will differ from provider to provider.

How do you ask students for donations?

Use a short story from your classroom when you ask for donations to explain why it’s so important your students get what they need. The most compelling stories connect us to another person on an individual level. To make it personal, tell a story of “one” rather than many.

How much do text donations cost?

DONATE™ does not charge for running the text donation service but we charge our normal transaction fees for each text donation made (4.5% for charities, 5% for non-charities). More information about our fees is available here.

And finally, text donations are a very quick and convenient giving method, and – crucially during the current Coronavirus pandemic – they are also safe and do not require breaking social distancing rules.

How do you ask for a donation?

When asking for donations in person, keep these tips in mind:

  1. Do research beforehand.
  2. Form a strong relationship before you make your ask.
  3. Meet them where they are.
  4. Practice your pitch.
  5. Communicate in a variety of ways.
  6. Be genuine, direct, and specific.
  7. Be prepared for rejections.
  8. Say thank you more than once.

Can you Gift Aid text donations?

Yes. Once a donor has donated via text, they will receive an option to add Gift Aid to their donation.

Does PayPal offer text?

Now, when a prospective donor texts your keyword to 877-678-1487 or our WhatsApp number, she receives a prompt to donate to your registered charity. The prompt includes a link to your mobile-friendly PayPal or other checkout page to complete her donation.
