How do you identify a Herend?

Herend has a marking system to keep track of the different items. On the bottom of every Herend porcelain product, you can see a Herend trademark. This is the Unique ID of the product. It doesn’t matter if you have an old or a new product because with this number you can identify, reference, or re-order the product.

What is Herend made of?

Herend products are made from hard-paste porcelain using a mixture of kaolin, feldspar and quartz. After cleaning, decorating and drying, the porcelain is first fired at 830 degrees Celsius. The fired pieces are then immersed in a glaze and fired again, this time at 1410 degrees Celsius.
