Does Warne make good scope mounts?

The Warne Scope Mounts QD rings are awesome. They’re solidly built, easy to install and return within a 1/4 MOA for my Ruger GSR. I’d originally used their low QD rings but the Nikon scope I’d paired it with had an eyepiece that was a bit too large and didn’t give enough clearance for the eyepiece cover.

Do Warne scope rings need lapping?

Yes, we recommend that scope mounting bases are secured to the firearm with Blue (non-permanent) thread-locking compound and be torqued to 25 in/lb on steel receivers.

How tight should scope ring bases be?

Incrementally tighten your scope ring screws to our recommend torque-poundage – about 15-18in. lbs, without the use of any thread-locker. If you’re mounting horizontally split rings, be mindful of the gaps on either side of the rings, trying to keep them evenly spaced.
