Our on board air systems are permanently installed in the vehicle for use with multiple applications. These applications include tire inflation, air tools, air lockers, load leveling, air horns and air suspension. Models are capable of airing up to 200 PSI.
Is Viair waterproof?
These compressors are moisture & splash resistant, but NOT WATERPROOF. Do not mount compressor in locations where the unit is likely to come in contact with water.

You can mount in any direction or position since VIAIR compressors are oil-less. The only position we do not recommend is an upside-down mount, since heat tends to travel upward, and does not dissipate well in the motor housing.
Can I leave my air compressor outside?
As a general rule, most air compressors shouldn’t be stored outside. Exposure to rain, excessive heat, and weather in general can damage your compressor over time. That being said, its possible to safely store your air compressor outdoors so long as its placed within a structure that protects it from the weather.

How big of an air tank Do I need to fill my tires?
The size of the air compressor tank will make a difference in how long it takes to fill your tires and how long your compressor pump will have to run. If you’re just topping off a tire or two (adding a few pounds of pressure to each tire), a 1-gallon tank should be more than enough to get the job done in one go.
