Why is it called Pony League?
The Name PONY Baseball Inc. is the corporate name under which Shetland League, Pinto League, Mustang League, Bronco League, Pony League, Colt League and Palomino League are operated in baseball and softball. PONY is taken from the first letters of each word in the slogan, “Protect Our Nation’s Youth.”
What is the difference between Pony and Little League?
In Pony League, players are placed in divisions strictly by ageat two-year-intervals, while in Little League, it is based on skilllevel. So there is a chance an 8-year-old could be playing in thesame division with a 10- or 11-year-old.

The junior division is for kids 12 – 14 years of age, similar to the Pony division in Pony baseball, and the senior division is for 13 – 16-year olds, similar to the Pony Colt division. Pony and Little League also have divisions that go beyond age 16.

NO bats larger than two and five-eighth inch (2-5/8″) diameter are allowed at any level of play. Two and five-eighth inch (2-5/8″) diameter bats that weigh minus 3 (-3) and have the “BBCOR Certified” stamp on them are legal, as long as they are designed for baseball use.
