The Calendar of Harptos was the calendar used across most of Faerûn. It was created by the wizard Harptos of Kaalinth, although most people associate the word “Harptos” with the calendar. It was split into twelve months, each lasting three tendays (or thirty days).

Years in Faerun have 12 months, each of 30 days. A week in the Forgotten Realms is a tenday (10 days, not 7), so that each month has an even 3 weeks. An additional 5 days fall in between months, bringing the yearly total to 365 days per year.
How much is a Tenday?
A tenday was a Faerûnian unit of time. The Calendar of Harptos divided the thirty-day months into three blocks of ten days each, or simply put, “tendays”. The word was used interchangeably with the Earth term “week”. Other terms used synonymously with tendays included eves, domen, hyrar, and rides.
Is Strahd an elf?
No. An old Ravenloft novel (I forget which one) explicitly says that Strahd does not have Elven blood. I think @Eriniel is right. Strahd was the first vampyr and analogous to the Gothic novel version of Dracula in many ways (Vlad Drakov of Falkovnia is basically the historical Dracula).
Is Strahd the first vampire?
In the original D&D the first Vampire was none other than Strahd von Zarovich, in later editions the origins of vampirism were less clear, ranging from one arising from the life draining kiss of a succubus, to their creation by Orcus in the likeness of Haemnathuun the Blood Lord.
