First Appearances The first appearance of a character can make that comic book skyrocket. It could be either a popular hero character or even a terrible villain. Either case, if there is the first appearance or an origin story of a character in the comic, that can really make it worth a lot more.
Are graded comics worth more?
Most comics from the 80s are overprinted and are easy to find, even in high grades. If your modern comic looks like a 9.6 or worse, then chances are that it isn’t worth sending to get graded. You would need to get a 9.8 from CGC on most newer books to make them worth your time and money.
