Where do you put ACAN coral in tank?

The best placement for an Acan coral is in a location with moderate water flow & light intensity, six inches or farther away from neighboring corals. Too much water flow or light will damage the coral. Acans will damage other corals closer than 6-inches.

Can you put ACAN corals next to each other?

They have grown well together. i have two acans that have been growing next to each other for a while. as long as they are the same species, they will not fish. for example: if you place acanthastrea echinata next to acanthastrea lordhowensis, one will kill the other.

Will Acans grow on sand?

mine prefer the sandbed (20l so rocks are too much light imo) The lower they are the more “puffy” they tend to get. I actually started my acan out on the sandbed of my 90 gallon and it started to die. I moved it about halfway up the tank on the rocks and now it’s coming back to life.

Can you put Acans next to each other?

As long as you keep the same type of acan together you should be fine. They call it the ‘passing lane’ and the ‘fast lane’ for a reason.

Will Acans grow on sand bed?

I have a large acan colony, 40+ heads on the sand the does very well. Although it’s almost too big to put anywhere else, so that one is staying put.

Do you dip ACAN coral?

Acans do not like coral rx in my experience but I too always use both dips. I would dip in the reef dip again but not the coral rx and then give it a few days. If feeding tantacles come out feed it some soaked pellets.

How quickly do ACAN corals grow?

The ones that are growing fast started growing new heads around 1.5 to 2 months.
