What does Apnap mean?
APNAP is an acronym that stands for Active Player, Non-active player. It describes what happens when multiple triggered abilities trigger at approximately the same time.
Do triggered abilities go on the stack MTG?
Some triggered abilities’ effects are optional (they contain “may,” as in “At the beginning of your upkeep, you may draw a card”). These abilities go on the stack when they trigger, regardless of whether their controller intends to exercise the ability’s option or not. The choice is made when the ability resolves.
Can you stack upkeep triggers?
503.1a Any abilities that triggered during the untap step and any abilities that triggered at the beginning of the upkeep are put onto the stack before the active player gets priority; the order in which they triggered doesn’t matter.

His Thopter Assembly’s trigger will go on the stack first, followed by all triggers you control in any order you choose. As the NAP, your triggers will resolve first.
Can you respond to a triggered ability?
Once a triggered ability is placed on the stack, players can respond to it. He may indeed cast Fall of the Hammer before Shadowborn Demon’s ETB resolves. Fall of the Hammer will resolve first (having been placed on the stack last). This damages your Demon, which presumably results in its destruction.

Can you hold priority and play a land?
A player who has priority may play a land card from his or her hand during a main phase of his or her turn when the stack is empty. Playing a land is a special action; it doesn’t use the stack (see rule 115). Rather, the player simply puts the land onto the battlefield.

The player with priority may hold priority until he or she passes it implicitly or explicitly. Priority is implicitly passed after placing a spell or ability on the stack unless the player states otherwise, it’s also implicitly passed whenever a new step in the turn is entered.
