Cyric (seer-ick) is a petty, self-centered, megalomaniacal deity who holds himself above all other deities. He has an immense following throughout Faerûn: The unholy radiance of the Dark Sun draws power-hungry mortals like moths to a flame and then inexorably consumes them.
How did cyric become a god?
Formerly a mortal thief, Cyric rose to his power in the aftermath of the Time of Troubles, when the three prime gods of evil died, raised to godhood for his evil in order to replace them. He was recognized in Faerûn by his symbol: a white jawless skull on a black or purple sunburst.
How was mystra killed?
Mystryl died when Karsus, wanting to take her place as god of Magic created the most powerful spell ever (12th level spell) and nearly destroyed the Weave. Mystryl sacrificed herself to save the Weave before it was too late.
What is the spell plague?
The Spellplague is a malady that struck Realmspace on 29th Tarsakh, 1385 DR and was caused by Mystra’s assassination at the hands of Cyric and Shar. With the goddess’s death, the Weave, the universal structure of arcane forces, convulsed.
