The Annual Kirtan Darbar is organized on the campus to thank and seek the blessings of the Almighty. Held in the evening, the Kirtan Darbar is attended by the GJIMT community and members of the public. Kirtaniyas of renown sing the ‘Gurshabad’ and create a blissful atmosphere.
What happens in the Golden Temple on a daily basis?
The temple is open to visitors round the clock except for four hours at night, which is the time used for cleaning the shrine. Every day around 10:30 pm, the scripture is carried out in a golden palanquin from the gurudwara to the Akal Takht (which is the resting place).
Can we stay in Golden Temple at night?
Anyone can stay for free in the temple complex, a monk saw us walking with backpacks and took us to the dormitory accommodation called “Guru Arjan Nev Diwas”, simple accommodation with a shared bathroom reserved for tourists, you are allowed to stay here for free for 3 days.
