Are Maxxis minions good?
The Minion is one of the most popular all mountain tires out there. They offer a great combination of predictability, good breaking performance and low rolling resistance in their category.
What is the difference between Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR?
They’re almost the same tire. The dhF is for the front and the dhR is for the rear. But most people run the DHFs front and rear. DHR is for the rear and DHF is (supposedly) for the front, but the DHF doesn’t have a specific tread pattern and is lighter than the DHR (just as/more grippy too) so people run dual DHF’s.
Is the Minion DHF a good rear tire?
The DHF also makes an excellent option for a rear tire, with its balanced driving, braking, and cornering traction—but I personally prefer the Maxxis Aggressor ($47.99 on Competitive Cyclist).
Is the Maxxis Minion a front tire?
Though the Maxxis Minion DHF is intended to be run on the front of a bike, it’s a well-rounded tire that is still plenty effective on the rear so long as you aren’t hoping to make it up steep, loose climbs. The one downside to this tire is the same thing that makes some people love it so much.
Are Maxxis minions Tubeless Ready?
Tubeless Ready Sealant-compatible rubber is used with the familiar Maxxis dual-ply 60 TPI downhill construction and butyl insert for support and rim protection in order to offer the benefits of increased grip and reliability.
What rolls faster DHF or DHR?
t the dual compound versions are just plain harder = faster which is why many see the DHR2 as being faster and it’s not because of the tread pattern. The 3C compound of the DHF is SLOW for use as a rear tire; don’t go there and you will be fine.
What is Maxxis Minion DHF for?
The Minion DHF is our most popular front downhill and MTB tyre which provides grip and control in loose and muddy conditions. Pair this with the Minion DHR II on the rear for (proverbially speaking) unstoppable performance.
Can I run a Maxxis Minion DHR on the front?
DHR2 is completely fine as a front tire. Faster rolling than DHF but does not have the same braking traction.
Is Maxxis Minion tubeless?
Are wider rims better car?
Steering. Wider wheels and wider tires will also lower your steering friction coefficient. This ensures that you can keep a firmer grip on the road when at higher speeds. A wider wheel will mean sharper turns, slowing down less in corners and more grip and control as you steer.
