What is your UVic NetLink ID?
A NetLink ID is your online identification at the University of Victoria. A primary NetLink ID is a unique personal identifier which is used as your username for various services provided by UVic. University Systems recommends that all UVic students, faculty, and staff register for a NetLink ID.
How do I get a UVic NetLink ID?
Go to https://www.uvic.ca/uvicid to sign up for a NetLink ID. When you sign up for a NetLink ID, you can also sign up for an email address and web space if you are current faculty, staff, or student. Applicants can apply for a NetLink ID but will have limited access to campus resources.
How do I find my NetLink ID?
You can find your V Number on your student card or in your application confirmation email. Contact the Graduate Admissions and Records Office for assistance. Continuing Studies students will have received their V Number on their registration receipt.
How do I access my UVic email?
You get a basic webmail account when you create your NetLink ID. Your email address is your [email protected]. To activate your UVic email account, login to the student WebMail system. UVic email accounts can be accessed online through Online tools or WebMail.
How do I check my UVic application status?
Shortly after you apply, we’ll send you an email with your UVic student number, followed by instructions on how to check your application status online. We’ll contact you by email once an admission decision has been made and you’ll be notified if anything further is required.

Does UVic email expire?
Once you leave UVic, a Microsoft 365 email account is archived for up to 1 year in the event you return to UVic as a student. All archived account data is deleted after 1 year.
How do I add my UVic email to my Android phone?
Instructions may differ depending on your device.
- Go into Settings and select Accounts and backup.
- Select Manage accounts.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and choose Add account.
- Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
- Enter your role-based email address and password.
- If prompted, use UVic for the Domain.
