Can Osmo polyx be tinted?

Does Osmo polyx oil darken wood?

A clear oil such as Osmo Polyx Oil will maintain the natural appearance, but will darken the wood again, much like when you wipe water over bare wood, it will enhance and enrich the woods natural tones.

What is the difference between Osmo top oil and Polyx?

Osmo makes three variations of Polyx-Oil, the original Polyx-Oil, Top Oil and Polyx Pro Oil. All three are very similar, with the only significant difference being the amount of solvent. Top Oil contains more solvent, and is supposedly optimized for furniture and countertops (as opposed to floors).

Can I tint hard wax oil?

The tinted range of Fiddes Hard Wax Oils have been carefully formulated to offer excellent depth and range of colour. Available in 14 different shades with a natural satin finish. In areas of heavy wear or where a different finish is required a final 3rd coat of clear Hard wax Oil can be applied.

Do you sand between coats of Osmo polyx?

Sanding is not necessary between coats. However, de-nibbing with a pad may help to reduce any imperfections from the surface between each coat.

How do you apply Osmo tint?

METHODS OF APPLICATION Transparent coloured: Apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain with Osmo Natural Bristle Brush, Osmo Microfibre Roller or Osmo Floor Brush 150 mm, and spread well. Allow to dry for approx. 24 hours with good ven- tilation.

Sand your piece up to 220 grit, making sure to raise the grain at 180. Add a thin coat of Polyx Oil with a cotton rag. Use some wet/dry sandpaper at 220 or 320 grit, and sand the Osmo into the wood.

How to use POLYX®-oil tints?

Wood surfaces treated with Polyx®-Oil Tints are easy to maintain. Remove coarse dirt with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner. To clean, add Osmo Wash and Care concentrate to mop water and clean the surface with a damp (not wet!) mop. Important: Apply maximum one coat of Polyx®-Oil Tints to flooring.
