Effective May 28th, 2019, Texture, the digital magazine app, will no longer be available for Android users. Texture was acquired by Apple in 2018, and iOS users are now being encouraged to switch from Texture to an Apple News+ subscription.
What is next issue?
Next Issue is a “Hulu for magazines” concept — a service, jointly owned by some of the world’s biggest publishers, that lets you read digital versions of magazines produced by some of the world’s biggest publishers. It was created in 2009, launched in 2012, and since then hasn’t made much impact.

Instead, the Texture email says they’ll be offered a “one month free trial” to test out the service. That’s the same deal all new Apple News+ subscribers get. After the first month, the subscription will auto-renew at $9.99 per month.
