What grades do you need to get into Solihull Sixth Form?

You will need:

  • At least two grade 6s at GCSE or merits on an equivalent course.
  • At least a further three grade 4s at GCSE or equivalent, including at least grade 4 in GCSE English Language OR Mathematics, with at least grade 3 in the other one.

Dress code is smart/casual. This means you do not have to wear school uniform. Jeans and trainers are fine. Please wear what you feel comfortable in, but keep the dress code appropriate, so no inappropriate slogans or revealing outfits please.

Solihull College & University Centre does not offer A-Level courses to our school leaver age students. The College offers a wide range of equivalent vocational provision in a wide range of subject areas, with progression routes leading to higher education and employment.

    What are the fees at the Sixth Form? There are no fees, as we only take students from the UK and the European Union, and those under the age of 18 years. We do ask for a voluntary contribution to the College Fund of £50, which supports the College and its work and helps fund enrichment courses.

    If your grades are too low to get into your chosen sixth form or college, it may still be worth getting in touch to see if they may still offer you a place. They may even allow you to transfer to a similar course or provide information on other colleges.

    Can you go to sixth form at 18?

    Yes of course. There is someone in my year at school who has re-done ASs and A2s because his phone went off in one of his orignal A2s. There’s someone in the year below me who’s doing it aswell basically just because he failed – they’ll both have spent 4 years at 6th form.
