The E36 is probably the more reliable car, though. Mechanically, the E46 is just a mild evolution of the E36, so it will suffer from all the same E36 problems (which are fairly minor), but then also have a few other trouble spots due to being slightly more complex compared to the E36.

Of all the cars I’ve drifted in stock trim, most have been somewhere between tolerable and horrid, but this BMW was actually really fun to drift and I could push pretty hard as a result. I think the E46 was even better to drift in stock trim than the S13, or at least close!
