EW2 kinda stomps the first one when it comes to creature design. The only really good design from EW1 was Laura imo, Keeper is just a poor man’s pyramid head. In EW2 you have the gruesome giggling guardian, obscura, anima, the watcher which were way scarier and cooler than most in EW1.
