What is PlastX used for?

Applying PlastX

  1. Apply a small amount of PlastX to a Meguiar’s foam applicator pad or terry cloth towel.
  2. One headlight at a time, rub thoroughly onto plastic headlight (avoiding painted surfaces).
  3. Wipe off residue with clean microfiber or terry cloth towel before product dries.

Does PlastX protect?

It is called a clear coat and it is was gives your headlights their true, UV protection. This is the same reason your car paint has a clear coat. And yet the Meguiars PlastX plastic polish, while stating it is perfect for use to restore headlights, says it is NOT safe for coated plastics.

What cleans clear plastic?

Toothpaste also works well to clean clear plastic surfaces. Use a white, non-gel toothpaste, rub directly onto the surface, and clean with a rag working in small circular motions. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, and any film or residue will disappear from the plastic, and restore the shiny plastic finish.
